Goodbye… For now.

I thought I would wrap up this chapter of mydailygrub with some extras. I won’t be posting for a while because of finals, and AP test and all the other school related obligations but why not end off on a good note.

So basically this swill be a random complication of three different pictures and my commentary on them.

This first one probably explains a lot. This is me in my beginning years, as you can see I always had a taste for good food. Except I don’t think I knew how to eat it.IMG_7859

This is a shout out to my mom for making me peas and pasta, and throwing in a little peach for some sweetness.

This next picture is something that me and my brother always wanted to try just for the fun of it. We went to Taco Bell at 11 pm and got 12 Doritos Locos Tacos. I only finished 4 and so did my brother but it was a good experience.

Lastly I have a picture of a cupcake… Now you might ask your self why. Well this is because I was at Crushcakes Cafe with my friend Chet, and I actually forgot to take a picture of my meal and only took one of the cupcake. (This has actually happened more that you would think). So here it is… It was really good and was definitely the best cupcake in Santa Barbara.

Thank You…. Arigato (Dinning w/ Dad Pt. 3)

Hey guys, so a couple nights ago I had that monthly sushi craving… It needed to be soothed. So I went to quite possible the second best sushi place in town. It is quite different from the other sushi restaurants I have reviewed, this is much more “fancy” and the quality is much higher than the quantity… if you know what I mean.

IMG_8043

So me and my dad decided to split a salmon carpaccio. This was absolutely delicious, the garnish provided for an secondary flavor to accompany the salmon. Lets just say this plate didn’t last more than 4 minuets on our table…

For my main dish(es) I went with two smaller items because I really enjoy a good variety. Especially with Japanese cuisine. The first Item was their thinly sliced Garlic Kobe Beef. This was beyond melt in your mouth…. Absolutely positively delicious…IMG_8047

The last item, of course, was sushi. It was called The California Sunset, containing, rice, tuna, cucumber, avocado and garnished with roe. The main staples of California “based” sushi. This was amazing. At Arigato you can really tell that every ingredient is best in its class and you feel good after eating their food.

I can truly recommend this restaurant to any Japanese Cuisine Enthusiast

Panino is Yum

So todays post is going to be about a great sandwich shop. I strolled into the Montecito storefront, however they have four other locations around the Santa Barbara County. This is a great place to get great food. Most of there sandwiches have an Italian theme, providing something to mix it up a bit from the classic, “Turkey and Cheese” Sandwich. I as usual got a number 13 which is absolutely scrumptious.IMG_8035

This beautiful sandwich contains fresh mozzarella, with prosciutto, lettuce, roasted peppers, and a bit of basil and vinegar. The perfect Italian sandwich.

IMG_8037

The also offer a variety of freshly baked breads but mine is by far the focaccia. It has the perfect amount of they and really entices you to take another bite!

Not only does Panino offer a variety of sandwiches and salads, they also have an extensive kettle chip collection, ranging from the classics, to things more interesting like what I got, red curry! They were very tasty… 🙂

To conclude if you are ever near a Panino and not sure if you think it will be good, you’re wrong its delicious!

Burger Galore pt 2

This installment of BG is featuring an excellent restaurant. Padaro Beach Grill, a place that really captures the essence of California. The restaurant offers a variety of different items, ranging from burgers and salads, to fish and chips. This is a great dive to grab some good grub.

Judging by the title you can tell I made the choice of a burger. My burger was called the California Burger, which like the restaurant captures the California life. This yummy burger features roasted peppers and onions, jack cheese, and of course avocado, and honey dijon mustard.

IMG_7956

This burger was really good. It was super fresh and every bite had the same juicy and flavor packed sensation. I really enjoyed this burger and would recommend it to anyone who loves that California taste.

IMG_7955

I personally choose the simple choice of french fries, which don’t get me wrong are amazing. However they also offer sweet potato fries and onion rings which are also amazing.

IMG_7953

The restaurant itself is amazing, it is located right on the beach which allows for an awesome view while enjoying some awesome food.

Rudy’s Tacos

Let me start off by saying that is must be the best taco anyone can buy with money. It comes from the restaurant Rudy’s Tacos. This is one of those restaurants that you have never herd of but when you do happen to stumble in you are more the pleasantly suprised.  They serve many other items, however their tacos are by far the best… I ordered two tacos for my dinner, and on might think that that isn’t a lot of food… you are mistaken, you don’t know

IMG_7946.

This is a beauty. This is a hard shell taco, which by the way is actually deep fried… ya…. whats inside represents the saying “simplicity is beautiful” lettuce, cheese, shredded beef. Their shredded beef is something else, every bite is full of juice and leaves your mouth watering for more.

IMG_7943

Their homemade salsa is also something not to be reckoned with. It is always extremely fresh and adds that perfect spice to anything that they serve.

Their chips are also delicious and being able to dip them in taco remains or just some also adds to the meal.

School Lunch < Pane E Vino

This monday after spring break, I wasn’t really feeling up to going to school. So I didn’t, I stayed home and caught up on some sleep. When I woke up, I was feeling very hungry and luckily, so was my dad. So what did we do? we went to a classic Italian Trattoria. This wonderful eatery is located in upper village Montecito California.IMG_7924

Side Note: This is definitely my favorite bottled water. Anyone that says that all water taste the same is a LIAR!

Once I browsed the lunch menu my choice was obvious… I am not going to try to type the Italian pronunciation because that is honestly impossible so let me just describe it to you. It was lightly breaded chicken breast i think there were three strips. They were served over a delectable fresh mixed green salad with a light oil dressing. This allowed for every bite to contain some fresh and juicy chicken, with a well dressed piece of salad.

I really enjoy this restaurant because of how good their quality of food is. Everything that I have ever ordered from Pane E Vino is great and motivates me to come back for more!

Burger Galore Pt. 1

Today, we look at our first installment of Burger Galore; a series that I will be reviewing, tasting, and cooking burgers of any sort. . . ( I don’t discriminate).

This burger is from the Nugget Restaurant in Summerland, which offers great food for a really competitive price. I really like this restaurant because of their burgers. They are simply delicious. Everything on them is fresh and provides for each bit to be a very pleasant experience.

FullSizeRender (1)

You can from this picture how each ingredient pops with vibrance. The burger as a whole  was very good. It wasn’t to greasy and left you feeling fine after eating it. The only thing I could say about this burger, which quite have just been because I got it taken out twas the bun… the bun was a little soggy. This was like I said most likely due to the combination of the burger being taken out  as well as the overwhelming juice from the patty.

IMG_7510

This burger comes standard with fries. Which were as good as the burger or better. Just how I like them. Shoe string, with a perfect yellow / gold tint to them.

Overall I give this experience a 9/10.

Lucky’s Steakhouse

WARNING, THIS POST CONTAINS INAPPROPRIATE IMAGES.

VIEWER DESCRESSION IS ADVISED…

This weekend treat courtesy my dad was Lucky’s steakhouse, a place of beauty for any carnivore. I will start off by saying, if you haven’t gone there, drop whatever you are doing (feeding a baby, preforming surgery, graduating college) and go make a reservation now. Honestly, the only thing I can say about this restaurant is how utterly amazing this restaurant is. Here, let me show you…IMG_7767

Feast your eyes, on this beauty, 12 oz’s of pure deliciousness a filet mignon, I must tell you, typically I don’t like ordering filet, usually to bland, but not at Lucky’s. I know you have encountered a person that swears on their mothers grave that some random restaurant is the best place to get a steak… WELL… THEY ARE ALL WRONG. Lucky’s steak is actually the best. To start you can cut this steak with just about anything, a spoon, a tissue, air… it doesn’t matter and I am sure you get the point. It is so tender that the 98.5 degree mouth of yours will practically dissolve it with ease; and you will be left with an overwhelming happiness.

IMG_7770

As you can see above, we have the leaning tower of onion rings. Yes these are as scrumptious as they look, they are extremely savory, and leave you always craving another.

Lastly, but not least, is a green vegetable, broccolini, cooked to perfection and season superbly. The texture was on point, a bit of crunch followed by the chewy stem. Once again Scrumptious.

IMG_7771

I think I have said enough, until next time.

Let me know if you have been to Lucky’s Steakhouse in Montecito California.

Stuffed Shells = Stuffed Stomach

Tonight my mom surprised me with a wonderful sunday meal. Stuffed Shells, which if you have never heard of them or quite simple. Large pasta shells, stuffed with a cheese mixture, in my case, ricotta, spinach, and some ground beef. Once the shells are cooked you stuff them, then put them into a baking dish cover them with tons of mozzarella and homemade red sauce and throw them into the oven.

IMG_7643

IMG_7642 IMG_7641

Stuffed shells are a classic Italian dish, and in my family they are cherished. They are not easy to make, my mom probably spent upwards of three hours making them. However they are the most rewarding for your efforts.

IMG_7651

TASTE DESCRIPTION

When prepared correctly, stuffed shells taste like raviolis, but much, much, MUCH, better. They are a bit chewy due to the shells being baked combined with melted cheese in, and outside, each shell is its own meal. They really are absolutely scrumptious. They can be accompanied by a cucumber or arugula salad, as well some good crusty Italian bread!

If you have ever had a home made stuffed shell, please let me know by commenting!

Bacon Goodness Part 2?

So once again, as you can tell from my previous post ( https://mydailygrub.wordpress.com/2015/02/18/bacon-and-goudness/ )

I like bacon, and incorporating it into anything that I can; tonights special, was hotdogs.

IMG_7472

These little guys were, not only wrapped in bacon but had two layers of cheese on them too. The first was a white american, which was between the hotdog and the bacon. The second was on top of the bacon, allowing for a nice crispy outer shell and a gooey layer in every bite. They are very aesthetically pleasing as well they are one of those things that make your mouth water just by looking at them.

Now, no meal is complete without a properly prepared vegetable! I decided to prepare broccoli robe. Which, if you do not know, is a long green with a broccoli head, it has a slightly bitter taste, so it is more for the seasoned palate. I sautéed them oil and a bit of garlic, salt and pepper.

IMG_7474

Lastly was the starch, diced, and seasoned potatoes. They are prepared in the oven, to allow for a crispy, but not crunchy shell and a soft inside. They are perfect for any meal! They have little flakes of crispy cheese on them as well.

IMG_7478

Please share with me any, or all of your bacon creations!
